On diet and nutrition
Diet is what a person habitually eats, but as we say diet we usually refer for losing weight.
Hence, we look for a low-calorie diet that will help us to reduce help.
But diet is not necessarily for losing weight, we can take as example body builders diets which is actually aims to increase body mass and supply the body the required proteins for muscle building.
More examples we can see are gluten free diet, allergen free diet etc. but then again people refer to a diet as the short time for losing excess body weight.
Weight loss diet
This principal idea of this diet is to change the ratio between energy consumption to energy use.
Hence, we strive the body to burn more energy than we consume in our food.
Of course, part of this is more exercise to increase the body need of burning calories.
As we speak about diet, we should distinguish between a balanced diet menu which suits the body need to eating disorders as anorexia or bulimia.
Those are considered a mental problem, creating a serious health risks and even death.
Anorexia brings people to self-starvation, diet and anorexia are the totally opposite.
Obese people should keep a well-balanced diet menu which will help them to reduce weight. Persistence of balanced diet combined with exercise will produce results quickly.
Different reasons for obesity
There is different reasons for obesity; in many cases is a result of a bad life habits.
Many people are low on physical activities, excessively consuming food and drinks which with low nutritional value but high on calories.
Fattening and obesity can be seen on any person, but as we seen higher percentage in western countries, often people describe it as a “good life” disease.
In the states, its estimated that 60% of the adult population suffers from obesity and 20% among children. In Israel, the situation seems to be better, however there is a growing concern that we will close the gap.
How to lose weight?
If you are suffering from obesity and overweight, you should seek nutritional consulting that will help you to build a suitable diet menu. But in general some things can be applied immediately:
First of all increase your physical activity – each person can choose his own activity.
Second thing is to reduce the consumption of candies and sweets that we like so much.
Third thing is to avoid the fast food chains; though greasy burger inside bread, covered with mayonnaise and served with deep fried potatoes might be tasty but no so healthy.
